Travelling should be fun, just being away from home can be an adventure and when you are setting out on your trip, or even just at the planning stage your expectations will usually be that you will enjoy an safe trip and return home fit and well, ready to take on the daily challenges that confront you. The last thing on your mind may be what if something goes wrong during my trip; I know this is our thoughts as we have enjoyed many fantastic trips, without serious misadventure. We do take time to prepare well, having seen the trouble that some people get into by rushing off overseas unprepared. During our trip to Europe last year we met friends who did both become sick and we found out later that they did not have medical insurance for their trip, a costly mistake. We have enough experience to know that our medical insurance does not extend outside Australia, so we take out a policy from MyCover Travel Insurance before leaving our home. MyCover was re-commenced by my friend who I know has travelled a lot and she has also needed cover for pre-existing medical conditions. We also have some minor medical problems so when taking out our policy with MyCover Travel Insurance we select the cover for Pre-Existing Medical Conditions, which in our case covers the conditions which are not in the standard policy.
